Tag-Team Marketing

One thing that confuses many people is how to to combine online and traditional advertising methods. If you are 100% traditional marketing, how will you shift into online marketing? This article is going to focus on the ways that you can combine your efforts when it comes to both types of advertising and marketing. There are some things that you've done in traditional marketing that translate directly to web marketing. It's all about conceptualizing these connections between the two types.

Depending on the size of your company, you may have a larger or smaller online marketing component. If you are a very large company that relies heavily on print advertisements and ads in newspapers, you will probably have a smaller budget for online advertising. But if you're smaller company, you will probably want to focus almost entirely on online marketing. You haven't established a real-life client base, and in these cases, online marketing causes far greater returns. Most companies will spend between 15 to 50% of their marketing budget on online advertising. Because of this, it's important to see why they should cleverly combine some of their efforts.
Print advertising does actually translate directly to online advertising. The main difference is that you have a lot less space to work with in Internet advertising. Normally you're paying per click, because your ads are showing up for specific searches. And in a newspaper, you're just paying a flat fee and hoping that a lot of people read the paper that month. Aside from the categories in the ad section, there's no real way to focus on your specific customers. So take whoever writes your real-life ads and get them started on writing online ads. They will have to say a lot more in a lot less space, and they will also have to include the URL of your website in a small amount of space. Be efficient and focused when doing your online advertising; but that need doesn't mean that it's something totally different from how you would do in real life.

If your a company that sends out catalogs the customers, hoping that they'll buy from you, you can directly translate that to an online e-commerce store. It's far less wasteful have people go online to your site to shop than it is to print catalogs and send them to people who may not even want them. It's a lot cheaper in the long run, because you're not having to spend the money printing and instead invest in making a nice website as a one-time fee. This is a very simple topic, but one that's easily ignored. Just because you always did it the old way with catalogs doesn't mean you can't convert your business over to an online set up. You might have some customers that refuse to change, but it's either keep them happy, or increase your costs and waste paper.

E-mail is the final thing that I'll discuss in this article right now. Many businesses do direct mailings. They send coupons, promotions, and other things to their customers directly in their USPS mailboxes. Many times these things just get thrown away, or better yet, recycled. If you are to send out unsolicited mail like this on the Internet, you can be reported by your IP address and face prosecution if one of these owners wants to sue you. I'm sure the same thing can happen in real life as well, but I think most people are used to receiving mail like this. So be smart about e-mail marketing. I wouldn't suggest doing unsolicited mailings. When your customers come in, I would obtain their e-mail addresses from them and let them know that you will send them promotions periodically. By sending an e-mail, you're giving them something that they can access from anywhere in the world as long as they've got Internet access. If you got a website, you're enabling a buyer to visit you at anytime of the day from anywhere in the world.

Finally, I will discuss video marketing. Many people pay for, or produce their own commercials for television. This is usually a smalltime operation, and production values are very low normally. Online, you can use sites like YouTube to create an advertisement for your company and reach a much larger audience much faster. Viral videos have become an incredible way to advertise. I can't give you a formula for creating instant viral video, but when it happens, it's somewhat of a phenomenon. If you could associate your company with something like that, you will have more traffic than you could handle. So if you have those skills, you might want to consider directing your efforts toward online videos rather than just focusing on television like this.

Internet Marketing: Continued!

I want to talk a little bit more about Internet marketing. There are some key specifics that I need to focus on. One is copywriting skills, the next is research skills, and the final is thinking like a customer would.

When it comes to print marketing or advertising, your work is not being indexed by all the people in the world. If you pay a lot of money and have a huge advertising campaign that airs on the Super Bowl, if you stole some work from somebody else, it's likely that you'll get found out and possibly sued. If you're just borrowing things from other sources and making little ads on a local TV network, you probably won't get found out unless somebody hates you and decides to report you. Obviously each way has its own consequences, but that doesn't mean that I'm saying I think you should steal content and brand it as your own. In fact, I don't think you should do that at all when it comes to Internet marketing. One thing that so important in Internet marketing is unique content. I'll explain right now.

There are couple of key components when it comes to unique content. You can syndicate content that you've personally written, as long as you post it in places where it's going back to the same site  (in this case your site). If you start stealing content and posting all over the web, you aren't going to receive credit for it. This is because Google has already indexed it in its previous location, and now that it has appeared somewhere else, it's being checked for where it's linking to. This is why it's so crucial to have unique content.

If your marketing material and all the sites pointed to your marketing material is loaded with unique, handwritten content, it's going to be freshly indexed by Google and all the credit is going to be given your site. It may take you more time to accumulate this content, but in the long run, it's more likely to weather the storm when Google makes changes to its algorithms. If you want to spend a lot of time doing SEO, it's better to do it in a consistent manner rather than doing something that's unsustainable that it is going to fail the next time the system is updated. Everybody wants to try and come up with a way to get around the system, but that doesn't mean that the results will stick. And most of the time, this success is anecdotal. If someone else tries to replicate the exact same success, they won't have any luck.

Now that I've said all this about unique content, I'm going to mention that you need to carry out a lot of research. You need to make sure that you're researching your articles and topics from a variety of sources and trying to make very unique content. You also need to research who your customers really are. If you write content for them, even if it's not the greatest content, they're more likely to stick around and read. If you provide auto generated garbage, they're likely to click off the page immediately. If you want to find out something about a company and found a bunch of terribly written articles, would you still buy the company's products?

If you stick to tips like these, focused on the concept of consistency, you will have much better results with your Internet marketing. This will make your hard work more of a long-term effort, than a short-term boost.

Happy Internet Marketing

If you want to do an affiliate program online, you could consider yourself an Internet marketer. But if you fill your affiliate page up with confusing information, as well as not making it totally clear how people are to purchase your product, you're definitely failing at your intended task. As any marketing goes, you're supposed to be selling a brand or idea, but you're not actually facilitating an exchange properly. Perhaps you also spend a bunch of time getting a fancy website designed. Is that really necessary in doing what you're doing?

Doesn't matter what you call it: Internet, digital, or online advertising or marketing, it's all the same thing. And it's not that far off from traditional marketing at all. You still need something to sell, you still need a way to present your idea, and you still need to find the right people to present to. The thing that most people struggle with in online marketing, is that they confuse some of the elements of these procedures. Some of the steps along the way could be confused for others. This being said, it's important to have a clear outline of how your marketing is going to work. Not something quick, but something outlining the process from start to finish.

The main difficulty that people face is distinguishing between the presentation and the thing they are actually selling. You're not actually selling the presentation. You are, however, selling the product that's featured in the presentation. Your website is not what you're selling, unless you're a web designer. I guess there's also the possibility that you are selling your website, so in that case, you are selling your website. All of these tiny illustrations aside, it's clear to see why you need so much focus when setting up these projects.



Make sure that when you're doing online marketing you know what your end goal is. Defining a conversion and finding a way to measure it is a great way to tell if your marketing efforts are working. As I said your procedures are all the same, but just make sure that you're not doing something silly like directing traffic to a website that's not fully functional or that is confusing. Don't try to sell your blog, try to sell your company. And don't so your website, sell your product.

Because you can advertise to so many different segments of the online population, you need to think hard about who you are advertising to. The Internet permits you to find very specific types of customers. You might send them e-mails, you might make posts on your blog that draw them in, or you might hand out flyers at your business the direct them to your website. All specifics aside, you should just make sure that you are cognizant of all the different things going on with your marketing, because that is what is most important.

Exchanges for the Win

The exchange is incredibly important component of marketing. I'm going to go over the key parts of an exchange, and explain why they are important to marketing. This is relevant in real-life marketing, as well as Internet marketing.

The first thing I will mention, is that there have to be two parties involved in any marketing transaction. Obviously you can't sell something to yourself, so that's fine of the parties needed. Perhaps you could sell something to yourself to avoid some sort of tax liability, but that's not what this discussion is about.

The second important portion of an exchange, is that both people have something that the other person wants. As I've mentioned previously, in most cases the customer has money and the company has a product. This could be an idea, a service, or anything else you can imagine selling. It's not the most complex idea, but it's easy to forget that these things need to be there in order for transactions to work.
The third portion of this discussion involves communication. If you cannot communicate with your customer, or your customer cannot communicate with you, you're not likely to get a sale. You also need to have a way of actually delivering your product, and your customer needs to have a way of delivering their money to you. This seems simple, but too often marketers forget this is required component to marketing. You can market all day, but if you don't have adequate communication and delivery, you're not actually going to get anywhere.

The fourth portion of an exchange is that both parties have free will. If you don't have the ability to actually make a decision, you cannot successfully market successfully and facilitate an exchange. Both parties need to be given an offer, and then they need to either accept or reject this offer. If that freedom is not there, the transaction cannot occur.

The fifth and final thing I will mention, is that reputation is important. You have to get past social norms and taboos to be able to market. Each party has to think that it's okay to deal with the other party. This is why I had mentioned that in marketing, it's very important to maintain a good reputation. If people believe it's good to deal with your company, or even outstanding or desirable, you're going to gain more transactions.

So after all this discussion, I have to say, this still doesn't guarantee that you're actually sell a product. However, all these things need to be true for an exchange to actually take place. Beginning Marketing



I'm going to spend a lot of time writing about marketing. People try to do this all the time, whether it be online or in real life. The root of many get rich quick schemes are in marketing. Everyone tells you that you've got an easy way to make a lot of money fast. This is why marketing works so well: because it's meeting the needs of the customers.

All the get rich quick schemes online seem to focus on one simple idea, which is that you can make a lot of money online not doing a whole lot of anything. I'm here to say that that's not the case. There is no secret software or idea out there that let you just hit a button and suddenly start making money. Marketing takes a lot of time, as well as a lot of effort. It's not for the faint of heart, because it's easy to give up when you've got to put in a lot of work. However when you set things up the way you want them to be, they will start driving traffic for you. But don't think that means you get 1 million visitors a week, just because you put in a few hours. It's something that does take a lot of effort, whether you think it should or not.

It doesn't matter what the company is promising you. You need to understand that marketing on the Internet and otherwise is a very intense ordeal. You need to reach the proper customers with your idea or value. If you fell for the get rich quick schemes, the person selling it was able to appeal to your needs with their company philosophy. In that case it was the desire to make money quick, without much effort. That does sound appealing to most anyone, especially somebody suffering with a dead-end job. The ability to work from home is an exciting one, but most people don't do well at it.

Big companies have entire departments dedicated to marketing. But that doesn't mean that only the marketing department is in charge of the marketing. People from all facets of the company contribute to the marketing, including product development, information, promotional tools, and other positions. Everyone plays a role in the idea of marketing, especially in a company that wants to be successful. This is absolutely crucial, and is essentially the foundation of marketing.

So if you're interested in what I'm saying, stick with me, because I'll be providing a lot of information that I've learned over the years. There is no simple way to marketing, but it's also not as hard as people make it out to be. It does take some hard effort, but it pays off in the long run. Some the tests are tedious, but once they're done you have long-lasting results. That's not to mention the dedicated customers and following that you created in the meantime.
